The Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College (HFNMTC) Library serves as a vital hub for learning, research, and academic excellence. Recognizing that knowledge is a powerful tool in healthcare education, the library is committed to providing easy access to accurate, current, and relevant information to support teaching, learning, and professional development.

Resources & Collections

The library’s collection is primarily funded through the college’s budget, with additional contributions from local and international donors. Available resources include:

  • E-Journals and digital databases to support evidence-based research.
  • A well-curated collection of nursing and healthcare textbooks, reference materials, and scholarly articles.
  • An automated catalog powered by a Library Management System for easy resource access.

Library Facilities

Borrowing Books

Book Lending Services

Students, lecturers, and staff are eligible to borrow books for a specified loan period. Borrowers must ensure timely returns to allow access for other users.

Inter-Library Lending

Upon request, the library staff can borrow books from other libraries, including partner institutions, to meet users’ research and study needs.

Renewal of Borrowed Books

Books from the General Collection may be renewed twice, provided there is no hold request from another patron. Renewals must be done before the due date to avoid overdue penalties.

E-Services at HFNMTC Library

The Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College (HFNMTC) Library provides a range of electronic services (E-Services) to enhance access to academic resources, support research, and improve learning experiences for students, faculty, and staff.

Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)

Library Rules and Regulations

To ensure a conducive learning environment, all users of the Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College (HFNMTC) Library are required to adhere to the following rules and regulations:

  • Silence must be observed at all times within the library.
  • As a courtesy to others, cell phones and electronic devices should be switched off or set to silent mode.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited within the library premises.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
  • Firearms and other offensive weapons are not permitted in the library.
  • Seats cannot be reserved. Any seat left unattended may be cleared by library staff for use by others.
  • Library staff have the right to inspect any item being taken out of the library.
  • Orderly conduct must be maintained at all times. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Users should remove valuables from their bags before leaving them unattended.

Failure to comply with these rules may result in disciplinary action. The library appreciates your cooperation in maintaining a quiet, safe, and productive environment for all users
