Curricullum

Curriculum Framework

Our curriculum is designed in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission standards. It blends rigorous theoretical instruction, simulation-based learning, and supervised clinical placements across affiliated hospitals and community health facilities. Each programme culminates in professional licensing examinations, ensuring graduates are practice-ready and fully certified.

Assessment Structure

Student progress and competence are measured through a comprehensive, multi-layered assessment system designed to evaluate both theoretical knowledge and clinical proficiency. This ensures that only candidates who meet the required professional standards progress through the programme.

Continuous Assessment

Students are assessed throughout each semester through assignments, quizzes, and practical evaluations. This ongoing process encourages consistent study habits and provides early feedback on academic performance.

Clinical Performance Assessments

Students are evaluated in real clinical settings on their practical skills, professionalism, and ability to apply theory to patient care. These assessments are conducted by clinical instructors and preceptors during placements at affiliated hospitals and community health facilities.

End-of-Semester Examinations

Formal written examinations are conducted at the end of each semester to assess mastery of theoretical content covered during the term. These examinations form a significant component of the overall grade.

Final Licensing Examinations

Upon completion of the programme, candidates sit for the professional licensing examinations conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (NMC) . Successful candidates are then registered and licensed to practice as professional nurses or midwives in Ghana.
